What ever happened to personal ideas and storylines?

I think a lot of people on this section are quite young, and therefore will naturally be influenced by the sort of books they are growing up with, e.g. Harry Potter and then Twilight. I think its great that so many young people are getting into books and writing, and wanting to explore the creative process of writing. It only annoys me when people then think it will be easy to get published; sure, write because you enjoy it but don't assume anyone else will want to read it and don't ever assume a publisher will think that your writing is anything special!
