Where to go on the east coast in November?

I am looking to go somewhere on vacation around thanksgiving in November. I live near Philly and would be willing to drive around five hours. I really would like to go somewhere warmer (south). A beach would be preferred, but I want to go somewhere that has more than to do than just that. Any suggestions of places near the South Carolina coast?
