Is It a skin reaction ?

I was in Philly today & i think i was in the sun too much & it was HOTTT & when i came home my face had some red spots ! everyone says its temp . is it ? or if its a sunburn how long does it stay ? & any reccomendations on how to make it normal again ? help please :'c
